Jonny Dyer
CEO, Muon Space
Jonny Dyer is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Muon Space, bringing extensive experience in aerospace, geospatial technology, and complex systems engineering across several industry-leading companies.
Previously, Dyer served as Chief Engineer at Skybox Imaging, where he led development of what became the world’s largest high-resolution satellite constellation prior to the company’s acquisition by Google in 2014. At Google, he led the Maps data collection team responsible for developing the company’s Street View vehicle and aircraft platforms.
Dyer later joined Lyft as Senior Director within the company’s Level 5 autonomous vehicle division, where he oversaw vehicle platform design and deployment initiatives. He currently also serves as an Operating Partner at Space Capital and as an advisor to Ubiquity Ventures.
In addition, Dyer is a founding member of the Environmental Defense Fund MethaneSAT Technical Advisory Group and contributed to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine APOSS study examining commercial SmallSat opportunities.
He holds both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and has authored widely cited research in thermodynamics, radiation effects, and imaging systems.
