Katie Cranor is Executive Director of the Office of Operational Safety within the Federal Aviation Administration Office of Commercial Space Transportation.

With more than 20 years of experience leading complex regulatory, safety, and mission assurance programs at both the NASA and the Federal Aviation Administration, Cranor has overseen large multidisciplinary teams and multimillion-dollar budgets supporting operational efficiency and the development of national space safety policy.

In her current role, Cranor works to advance the growth of government and commercial space transportation through strategic safety policy leadership, organizational transformation, and technical oversight. Her work focuses on aligning resources with national spaceflight priorities, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and driving performance improvements across commercial and government space programs.
