David Goldstein
Principal Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer, SpaceX
David Goldstein, based in Hawthorne, is currently a Principal Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer at SpaceX. He brings more than 30 years of Air Force and aerospace industry experience leading large, complex, technically focused organizations and teams. His expertise spans satellite systems, launch vehicles, ground control systems, and user terminal/receiver acquisition programs, including development, production, operations, sustainment, and contract execution. He also has extensive experience in systems engineering and program management, overseeing large program portfolios and enterprise-level initiatives.
Goldstein has significant experience developing and executing strategic planning initiatives, conducting workforce planning, managing large budgets, and collaborating with federal, public, and private organizations, as well as academic institutions. He has also led major Air Force source selection activities.
He possesses deep expertise in launch systems, the Global Positioning System (GPS), and MILSATCOM, supported by three years of graduate research focused on the use of GPS for real-time, precise satellite orbit determination (OD). In addition, Goldstein taught astronautics and led small satellite development efforts at the United States Air Force Academy. His background also includes directing Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV), ballistic missile, Space Shuttle, and satellite payload integration efforts, along with launch and on-orbit operations.
