Integrating Across Acquisition

Track: National Security Space

Time: 1145-1240 ET

Return to Summit

Over the past several years, we have seen the proliferation of acquiring agencies including Space Rapid Capabilities Office and Space Development Agency. In 2019, the U.S. Space Force stood up in part on the promise of driving an overall architecture and approach to acquiring space capabilities as part of an integrated and cogent strategy. An Assistant Secretary-level official was named to ensure coherence across the various acquiring organizations. As the Space Force is approaching its first anniversary (December 2020), what progress have we seen on creating this coherence and driving a cogent space acquisition strategy? What are the plans for the coming year?

  • Kay Sears, Vice President and General Manager, Military Space, Lockheed Martin Space
